Sales Director. Events Consultancy (Based in the Malaga Office)

Cititravel is a leading Destination Management Company covering Spain and Portugal, specialising in the organisation of events, sales incentives, product launches, conferences and meetings.

As part of the company’s continued growth and the planned opening of a consultancy division, there is a requirement for an International Sales Director to be based in Malaga:

Responsibilities:

  • To develop new business opportunities with multinational companies, encouraging them to hold their business events in Portugal and/or Spain.
  • To introduce new concepts of event consultancy into the marketplace.
  • To travel internationally for commercial purposes.
  • To develop a database of potential clients.

Skills sought:

  • Ability to establish solid commercial relationships with senior management figures and business owners.
  • Ability to come up with initiatives aimed at confirming events to be organised anywhere within the Iberian Peninsula and its associated Islands.
  • Research skills to be able to investigate potential markets and clients.
  • Communication skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English.

Profile:

  • University education. Postgraduate qualifications from a leading business school.
  • Highly cultured – comfortable when relating to senior management figures.
  • At least five years in management positions.
  • Knowledge of Spain and Portugal as receptive destinations for events.
  • A command of written and spoken French and/or German is an advantage.

    Main job assignments:

    • Supplier selection and management
    • Liaising with internal teams to ensure projects briefs are followed accurately
    • Full event logistic
    • Budget management and reconciliation
    • On-site event management
    • Updating of client database with all relevant information on clients and marketing and sales activities

Once successfully sold the next step is the client inspection visit, more personalised adjustments to the programme and finally its successful implementation.
